Lowell Alabaster Globe Pendant

Three chains do the work here. One runs from the round canopy to the top of an alabaster globe, and two more drop to curved brackets that cradle the globe at its sides, so the stone hangs in a kind of open sling rather than from a single stem. Unlit, the alabaster is a soft white with faint grey veining. Lit, it glows through its whole surface and the veining shows as darker drifts in the stone.

The frame comes in brass or a dark bronze, the chains and canopy matching. Two sizes share a 44-inch overall height: 9.8 inches across, and 22 inches across. The smaller globe suits a bedside, a reading chair or a narrow table. The 22-inch globe is a centrepiece for a round dining table or the middle of a living room, where the chains read as part of the design.

The suspension adjusts up to 6.6 feet (2 m), and the fixture hardwires to a ceiling box behind a 3.9-inch canopy. A replaceable LED bulb is included, at 3000K warm white.
