Kinloch Alabaster Wall Sconce

One upright block of alabaster makes up the Kinloch Alabaster Wall Sconce, shaped so that two curved sections meet at a pinched waist halfway up. Lit from within, the stone shows its veining in amber and cream, and the curves catch the light unevenly, bright on the swell of each section and shadowed where they meet. A thin brass-toned strip runs up the back edge where the fixture meets the wall.

It is made in two heights, 13.7 and 23.6 inches. The shorter one fits a narrow wall beside a bed or a doorway. The taller one reads almost as a slim column of stone, and it works best where there is height to fill: beside built-in shelving, next to a reading chair, or at the end of a hallway where it can be seen from the far end.

The LED is integrated and the fixture is hardwired to a wall box, with installation by a certified electrician recommended. Both heights draw 10 watts at a warm 3000K, and dimming is available on request. Because the light comes through the stone rather than out of an opening, the glow is diffuse and even, which suits evening light in a living room more than task lighting.
