A flat disc of terrazzo sits against the ceiling, and a white glass globe hangs directly beneath it from a small brass-toned fitting. The Gilroy is about the material: the disc is 0.6 inches thick, flecked with chips in warm neutral tones, and it frames the globe the way a plain canopy never does.
Two sizes are offered. The smaller has a 7.8-inch disc and stands 4.3 inches deep; the larger has a 9.8-inch disc and a depth of 5.9 inches. Both are compact enough for a hallway or an entryway, and the larger holds its own in a bedroom. Neither has a stem, so the globe stays close to the ceiling line and a door can swing beneath it under a standard ceiling.
The fixture uses a single G9 LED bulb, included, rated at 5W, and dimming is available on request. The bulb is replaceable, so when it eventually needs changing the fixture itself stays put. The body combines terrazzo, glass and copper, and it hardwires to a standard ceiling box on 90-260V.
