A flat capsule of alabaster, rounded at both ends, is held upright by two slim metal bars, and the bars are the whole frame. The Easton Alabaster Wall Sconce lights the slab from behind with two small lamps, so the stone glows most strongly around its center and fades toward the rounded ends, with the veining showing through where the light is brightest. The bars and the rectangular backplate come in a gold finish or in black.
Two heights share the 3.9-inch width: 13.8 inches for a bedside wall or beside a doorway, and 19.6 inches for a living-room wall, where a pair either side of a painting or a sofa gives the room a symmetrical frame. The 5.9-inch backplate sits behind the bars, so from the front the slab appears to float slightly off the wall.
It is hardwired to a wall box, with installation by a certified electrician recommended. Two replaceable G4 LED bulbs are included, and the fixture draws 10 watts in total, with dimming available on request. Gold suits warmer woods and brass hardware, black a darker or more graphic room; the stone is the same in both.
