Eight short cylinders carry the light in the Danforth Chandelier, four on an upper set of arms and four on a lower one, so the shades step around the fixture instead of lining up in a single ring. Each cylinder is closed underneath by a flat white diffuser, and that face is the only place the light leaves, which keeps the sides of the shades dark and the lamps out of sight from any seat in the room.
The stem is a bundle of four slender rods that fan out into the arms below the canopy, a detail that reads clearly from the side. Brass is the material; the fixture comes in a brass tone, in antique brass, in black or in chrome, with one finish over rods, arms and shades. One size is made: a round footprint 33 inches across and 36 inches tall, a proportion built for a living room seating group or a dining table for six to eight where there is ceiling height to spare.
The rigid rod runs up to 31.5 inches, so the drop is set once at installation and stays put. Eight E12 LED lamps at 80W in total are used and are not included. The fixture hardwires to a standard ceiling box; dimming and sloped-ceiling mounting are available on request.
