Ashby Chandelier

Four wide, shallow saucer shades give the Ashby Chandelier its silhouette. They sit at two heights around a slim central stem, two raised and two lowered, so the fixture reads as a layered spread rather than a flat ring of arms. A rounded white diffuser hangs beneath each shade and sends the light downward, while the shade above hides the lamp from anyone seated at the table, which is what makes it work as a modern chandelier over a dining room table.

The body is brass, sold in a brass tone, in antique brass, in black or in chrome, and the finish runs over stem, arms, shades and canopy alike. One size is made: 32 inches across in both directions and 25 inches tall, a scale that covers a six-seat dining table, a kitchen island or the center of a living room seating group without crowding the ceiling.

It hangs on a rigid rod up to 19.7 inches long from a 5-inch round canopy, so it holds its position instead of swinging. Four G9 LED lamps are used, one behind each diffuser, and they are not included. The fixture hardwires to a standard ceiling box; dimming and sloped-ceiling mounting are available on request.
